Imped Out

Well at this point I'm basically just using the software that came with my cybershot so it wasn't anything too high-tech. I shot the photo in sepia and then just messed around with the contrast and brightness using my software. If you push the contrast of images in sepia far enough they get really bright and take on a more orangy color. And then I think I raised the brightness quite a bit and that is probably responsible for the soft appearance.

Lots of time and patience in a bird hide at the local nature reserve. I have many photos of just the nuts with a bird vanishing in the background.

Please tell me how you achieved Self Portrait IX. Is it just sepia or is there a softener there as well.

thank you so much for all the comments and favs. i really love your work. you really have a feel for the simple and miniscule. you capture images of things that people tend to overlook. and how on earth do you get all those gorgeous shots of birds?
